Arts Enrichment Grant (AEG) Program - For Teaching Artist Placements
The Arts Enrichment Grant (AEG) Program ~ Integrating Artists into the Power of Preschool (PoP) places artists into Power of Preschool classrooms to teach young children through the arts and to build the skills of early educators to also use the arts as a teaching strategy. Pop is a high quality, free, voluntary, part-day preschool program for 4-5 year-old children. The AEG program is funded by FIRST 5 Santa Clara County and administered by E3 Institute, WestEd: Advancing Excellence in Early Education.
The AEG Program seeks to:
- Teach young children through the arts by providing hands-on arts experiences to young children. Teaching Artists in partnership with classroom teachers will identify outcomes for children.
- Increase awareness of the importance of appropriate artistic engagement through experiential activities as integral to a quality early childhood environment.
- Assist children in becoming personally, socially, and physically competent, effective learners, and ready to transition into kindergarten
Arts Enrichment Grant will be awarded for a minimum of $1,500* for a 25-hour placement to qualified individual artists.
*depending on number of classrooms served, multiple residencies may be awarded.
